What Pep knows about you
Plain English. No dark patterns. Last updated 16 May 2026.
The short version
- The free Chrome extension stores nothing about you on any server. Your theme and hide/show preference live only in your browser.
- Pep Pro (the optional signed-in web app at
pep.guru/pro) stores your email, the feelings you type in, and which quotes you've already seen — so Pep can respond and avoid repeating itself. - We don't sell your data. We don't run ad trackers. Ever.
The free Chrome extension
Everything the extension does happens inside your browser.
What we collect
Nothing leaves your device. The extension uses chrome.storage.local to remember your selected theme (sports, business, world leaders, philosophers) and whether Pep is shown or hidden. That data stays on your machine.
What we don't collect
- Page content, URLs, or browsing history
- Form data, passwords, cookies, or input
- Personal information of any kind
- Analytics or telemetry from the extension
Permissions, explained
- storage — remembers your theme and visibility preference across tabs.
- tabs — lets the popup tell the floating Pep to update immediately when you change theme or hide him.
- host permissions (all sites) — needed only to draw the floating Pep on top of every page. We never read or modify the page itself.
Pep Pro (signed in)
If you create an account and use Pep Pro, this is the full list of what we store and why.

Who else sees this?
- Lovable Cloud (powered by Supabase) — hosts the database and authentication.
- Google Gemini, via the Lovable AI Gateway — when you ask Pep how to handle a feeling, your feeling text is sent to the model to generate a response. Your email is not sent.
That's the whole list. We don't share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
Our promises
- ✅ We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties outside the uses listed above.
- ✅ We do not use your data for anything unrelated to giving you a Pep talk.
- ✅ We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- ✅ We do not run ad trackers, fingerprinting, or analytics inside the extension.
Your rights
- See your data. Sign in to Pep Pro — everything we store about you is shown to you in the app.
- Clear your history. In Pep Pro, use Reset history to wipe every quote and passage we've recorded.
- Delete your account. Email hello@pep.guru and we'll delete your account, feelings, and history within 7 days.
